Moving On Up – Starter Kits

Our goal is to provide homeless individuals, youth, veterans, and families with a few essential household needs while transitioning from homelessness into permanent housing. Many of our clients move into their new homes directly from a shelter or off the streets with nothing more than the clothes on their backs.

With your support, we will provide a “move-in kit” to each household to create a smooth transition, alleviate stress, and help give some dignity. Having the essential items, they need to make a fresh start will go a long way in making their new unit feel more like home. Data shows that those coming from a homeless situation into permanent housing without means to collect the bare essentials are more likely to return to homelessness.

Why Participation Matters

Transitioning into stable housing is a life-changing moment for someone who has experienced homelessness, but it comes with many challenges. Often, individuals or families don’t have the essential items needed to set up their new space. These Move-In Kits help provide comfort, dignity, and a sense of home for those who are starting fresh.
