Home Modification & Accessibility Grants
At NeighborWorks, we know that “home” is not just the building we live in but also the people surround and supporting us. Our Home Modification & Accessibility (HMA) Grant program ensures that Alaskans can continue to live in their homes by accessible modification, rather than relocations. These grants are possible thanks to the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority (AMHTA) and the State of Alaska Department of Health.
The HMA grants provide funding opportunities for essential home modifications to enhance accessibility and independence for individuals that will extend their ability to live independently in their homes. Home modifications allow eligible individuals to overcome roadblocks in realizing an enhanced quality of life while attaining the highest level of self-sufficiency possible.
Grants are available to applicants that live in a single-family, owner-occupied home, or in rental housing. There are no income limits or age limits for this grant program.
