NeighborWorks America is standing with organizations nationally and locally to contribute towards efforts to assist and rebuild! We’re honored to share that NeighborWorks America recently announced that it is awarding more than $1.5 million in grants to 18 NeighborWorks network organizations in communities affected by Hurricane Fiona and other disasters including Typhoon Merbok. NeighborWorks America has contributed $25,000 to the ACF Western Alaska Disaster Recovery Fund.
In a statement from our network’s leadership, NeighborWorks America Senior Vice President of Field Operations Katie Watts shared that this effort is part of a larger commitment from “NeighborWorks America to provide vital assistance to help organizations that deliver uninterrupted critical services to people, so no one is without food, stable housing, or a basic need. It’s a long road to rebuilding and recovery. We want to be there for communities in need and ensure they are supported, safe, and feel secure about their homes and basic everyday needs. Everyone deserves that support.”
NeighborWorks Alaska is a proud member of the NeighborWorks America network of community development organizations and is thankful for the support for our neighbors in need in Western Alaska!
